10 Unique UAE World Records That Will Amaze You

Dubai is one city that loves to create records. There is actually a full library of such records kept by the city, and there seems to be no end in sight to their desire for global acclaim. The desire, allure and urge to continue packing these world records does not seem to wane.


If you have been to the UAE or have heard about the place, then you know them for their luxury. People from all around the world look forward to visiting this place for any new definition of luxury. Many times the UAE has been able to break multiple world records as it aims to provide the best. Here are some of these world records broken by the UAE that we think are quite exceptional. 


1. The World’s Deepest Pool – Deep Dive, Dubai

If you ever dreamed or dared of exploring an underwater world, here’s your chance. The World’s deepest pool is now here in Dubai. Deep Dive Dubai, is the stunning new dining venue opened in Nad Al Sheba and it's also home to the world’s deepest pool.


Deep Dive Dubai is located in Nad Al Sheba and measures 60.02 metres in length. The pool can hold 14 million litres of water, which is equal to six Olympic-sized swimming pools. Apart from being a new attraction itself, there’s yet another striking feature the pool boasts. The pool features a sunken city, complete with abandoned streetscape, apartment, garage, arcade and other interesting features. Well, deep divers are sure to have a time of their life, exploring the underwater world.


The pool spans 1,500-square-metre and is designed to look like a giant oyster. Besides, the pool also has two underwater habitats, 56 underwater cameras covering all corners of the pool and an underwater sound and mood lighting system. The pool pumps in clean water, and the used water is filtered and circulated every six hours. The temperature is maintained at 30°C. And, lastly the pool is also home to a dive shop, gift shop, as well as a variety of meeting, event and conference spaces.

2. World’s Tallest Building

This is an iconic building of Dubai, and it took five years to build it and was unveiled and opened to the public in 2010. Burj Khalifa in Dubai is still the tallest building in the world at 828 m. The building is present in the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, and it was built as a part of the Downtown Dubai development project. There is also an observation deck on the 124th floor of the building. Burj Khalifa is a mixed-building with residential buildings, offices and hotels. 


Located at the heart of downtown Dubai, Burj Khalifa is the heart of downtown and city as well. located near the famous dubai mall and dubai Fountain, Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world.


Constructed in 2009 Burj Khalifa has a height of 828 meters (2,716.5 ft.), the 200 plus story Burj Khalifa has 160 habitable levels, the most of any building in the world.

3. World’s Tallest Hotel

Dubai is awash with luxury hotels, but only one can stand tallest. Fortunately, it’s hard to miss. The gold-topped 75-storey Gevora Hotel is quite unmissable on Sheikh Zayed Road, and extends some 356.33m to the clouds. The highest of 528 hotel rooms can be found on the 71st floor, so we hope you’ve got a head for heights.


The Gevora hotel in Dubai is currently the tallest. It measures 356.33 m and has 75 stories. It contains 528 rooms along with three fine-dining restaurants. They also have a wellness club for their guests. The hotel is located near to Al Attar Tower. They beat the record of the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel to become the tallest hotel. The former hotel is also present in Dubai.

4. Highest Outdoor Infinity Pool- Address Beach Resort

Dubai’s Address Beach Resort has now entered the Guinness World Record for the highest outdoor infinity pool in a building. Located 294 metres up, on the hotel’s 77th floor, it has a surface area of 560 square metres. The majestic pool is not only one of the key highlights of the resort but also has a stunning view. It is divided into a 75-m long swimmable zone and offers views across Bluewaters Island, Ain Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, The World Islands, Dubai Marina and the Burj Al Arab. When it comes to the in-house guests, the property now has a rooftop restaurant, open to all. The restaurant consists of an open-air terrace and 12 private enclosed, air-conditioned cabanas. The resort also has 217 hotel rooms and suites, 443 serviced apartments and 478 residential apartments.


The Address Beach Resort is home to the highest outdoor infinity pool in a building, at 964.2 feet high, Guinness World Records announced last month. Sitting on the hotel's 77th floor, the massive pool is about 311 feet long and 54 feet wide — almost double the amount of an Olympic-sized pool.

5. World’s Largest Picture Frame - Dubai Frame

You may have seen people posing with this sculpture which is quite famous in Dubai. The frame has a height of 150 meters, and you can see a beautiful Dubai skyline through it. You can catch the sight of the frame in the Zabeel park of Dubai. There is also a museum in this structure where you can see the skyline from the top of the frame. The design was given by Fernando Donis, a Mexican architect who wasn’t happy dealing with the city. 


The Dubai Frame is an architectural landmark in Zabeel Park, Dubai. It has been described as “the biggest picture frame on the planet” with a height of 150 meters, costing AED 230 million.

6. Largest water fountain - Palm Fountain

The Palm Fountain went down in the history books as the world’s largest just last year(2020) . The waterfront attraction has breathed new life into the Pointe, underlining its draw, and in full flow can blast 14,000 ft² of seawater up to 105m skyward. A special show that you’ve got to catch at least once.


Dubai's Palm Fountain broke the Guinness World Record for the world's largest fountain. It spreads over 1,335 square metres of seawater. The record-breaking fountain is located at The Pointe on Palm Jumeirah. The Palm Fountain has over 3,000 LED lights and 7,500 nozzles.


7. Largest flower arrangement / structure - Miracle garden

Even the humble flowerbed is seen as a plot from which to grow a world record in Dubai. Miracle Gardens is teaming with green-thumbed gurus, and their funky floral efforts have landed them in the record books. Hailed for pruning the largest flower arrangement/structure known to man, their petal-version of an Airbus A380 measures 72.95m by 78.34m, and towers 21.98m above the dropped jaws of guests.  


The Dubai Miracle Garden is a flower garden located in the district of Dubailand, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The garden was launched on Valentine's Day in 2013. The garden occupies over 72,000 square metres, making it the world's largest natural flower garden featuring over 50 million flowers and 250 million plants.

The world’s highest restaurant can be found nowhere else than in the tallest building in the world! Yes, you read that right! The Burj Khalifa is home to At.mosphere – the world’s highest restaurant. The At.mosphere sits on the 123rd floor of the Burj Khalifa and is elevated to a height of 1,447 feet. But before you get excited, bookings have to be made in advance.

9. Largest mall in the world - Dubai mall

This sprawling mall in the glamour capital of the world is easy to get lost in. At over 12 million square feet (equivalent to more than 50 soccer fields), the Dubai Mall is the largest shopping mall in the world based on total area. The mall contains more than 1,200 shops, an ice rink, a SEGA game centre, a five-star hotel, 22 cinema screens and 120 restaurants and cafes. It also boasts the largest indoor aquarium in the world AND it’s the gateway to the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. Yeah, Dubai likes to break records!

10. WORLD'S LARGEST MOBILE MAZE - The Wonder Maze

The Wonder Maze in Dubai is spread across the area of around 30,000 sq. ft. in the popular Riverland theme park, which is part of the larger Dubai Parks and Resorts, with approximately 3,000 metres of pathways, making it the largest mobile maze in the world.


Wonder Maze is designed in modules, which simply means that the activity area is divided into smaller parts. The path is changed every day, thus, the maze will be new every time you visit the place.


Navigating the maze is challenging, but there are clues spread all along the route to help participants to find their way. You will face many twists and even dead ends in this larger-than-life labyrinth.
