You don’t have to be a hotel or restaurant guest to enjoy this leisurely cruise aboard the traditional motorised boat that includes comfortable benches for 10 persons. No pre-bookings are required but during peak hours you need to reserve the tour in advance. 

  • Abra Tour Timings: Sunday – Saturday from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm during winter and 11:00 am to 11:00 am to 11:00 pm in summer. Each tour departs after every 20 minutes and lasts for 20 minutes.

Turtle Conservation

One of the last thing you'd expect to see in this urban jungle is marine turtles, and yet at The Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project (DTRP) based at Burj Al Arab and Madinat Jumeirah is where rescue, rehabilitate and release back of native sea turtles into the wild takes place.

 

The Hawksbill turtle, native to Middleeast is listed as a critically endangered species and vulnerable to extinction. Since the beginning of 2004, these turtles have been brought in for conservation. The Turtle Rehabilitation Sanctuary at Jumeirah Al Naseem, close to Souk Madinat Jumeirah, allows the public to learn more about sea turtle biology, the rehabilitation and also allows turtle feeding.

 

Jumeirah Al Naseem’s Turtle Rehabilitation Lagoon is open to the public every day allowing you to get up close and personal with the cute turtles.  You also have the opportunity to join the feeding sessions scheduled at 11 am, every Wednesday for about 20 minutes.

Anar’s classic Persian cuisine doesn’t disappoint, offering an authentic taste of Iran, albeit with a Western edge. Taverna

As you’d expect, this Greek restaurant at Souk Madinat Jumeirah does Mediterranean food well, especially its board of tiger prawns and traditional Greek tzatziki. Taverna now boasts an outdoor bar called Aegean on the Souk Boardwalk, with exteriors designed with rustic vibes, greenery and lounge seating.

 

The Meat Co.

It’s fine-dining at its most relaxed at this African steakhouse, and if the name didn’t give it away, this is most definitely a place for meat-eaters. The Meat Co. at Souk Madinat Jumeirah had a revamp in 2019, for the better, and it comes with a whole-new look both indoors and outdoors on its cool deck. Expect everything from specialty burgers and steaks to tuck into while you people watch at this Souk Madinat Jumeirah steakhouse.

 

The Noodle House

This long standing homegrown Dubai brand is well worth a visit for the tasty Asian dishes. Look forward to dishes and décor inspired by the bustling street markets of Jakarta. Expect to see a range of colourful and cultural sights and themes, and a totally traditional approach to Asian dining, along with the promise of “sticks-hands-spoons'' dining.

 

Trattoria Toscana

Exposed brick, distressed wood, oversized cushions and a sleek open kitchen hung with big, shiny brass pots and pans make Trattoria Toscana an attractive place at Souk Madinat Jumeirah to dine. There are some interesting pizza choices here, too (truffle fondue, porcini mushrooms, smoked beef ham and rocket, for instance), but for the ultimate pizza, we say go for a simple classic, as the margherita really excels.
