Dubai-based Children's City is the first educational city in the United Arab Emirates devoted to children between two and fifteen years old where they can investigate, explore, play, discover, and learn about the world in which we live. The Children's City is specially designed for children to interact and discover together in family and school groups. It contains several exhibits and programs like a nature center, space exploration, human body, computer & communication, planetarium, the way we live and international culture as well as the Toddlers area. In addition, Children's City presents daily educational workshops throughout the year at the different galleries or in the purpose-built halls and entertainment programs at the Children's City Theater for school students, children and families.


For a family-friendly day that is equal parts fun and educational, head to Children’s City. This themed activity centre in Creek Park offers kids their own learning zone and amusement facilities, designed to complement what they’ve been learning at school.

 

Expect plenty of interactive and hands-on activities across a range of different areas. With so much to explore, Children’s City makes sure to keep things interesting. Just some of the highlights include a planetarium, global exhibition, earth-science gallery, nature centre and technology gallery. You can even explore the mysteries of the human body.

 

And for young learners under 6, there is also a toddler’s area with age-appropriate games and entertainment. The Al-Ajyal Theater is great to enjoy entertainment for both you and your kids, as well as the hands-on workshops. Even if you’re an adult, you might learn something new at Children’s City.

 

Dubai Children’s City is a three-storeyed building and is located close to Creek Park. What makes this place more unique is that here, your child learns how to interact and share his views and opinions with his peers. You could find the presence of several exhibits and interactive programs explicitly designed to train young minds with the natural happenings. Computer, communication, space exploration, nature trail, exploring the human body and others are some of these interactive sessions where your child can participate in.

 

Throughout the year, the Dubai Children’s City schedules educational workshops to familiarize your child with all the live, national and international cultures around him.

 

The Play Space of the Dubai Children’s City is a vast zone where your child can construct his own house or a bridge. Here, he can also be a part of the recycling team and work on recycling rubbish or be a member of the Children’s City production line. There are innumerable activities to keep your young ones engaged for long hours. There are super-sized computers and other latest technological advancements where curious minds may find quality time to invest.

Dubai Children’s City provides free Wi-Fi facilities, rental facilities, membership services, Braille stories, wheelchair services, baby carriages, umbrella services and locker facilities. The moment you feel hungry, make your way to the Malik Burger, which is located on the ground floor of the Dubai Children’s City. It serves some snacks and other sweet treats. Also, there’s a café called Bon Voyage Children’s City café which overlooks the garden that stretches beyond it.

1. Explore what’s hidden beyond Earth Science 

This is a new exhibition centre brought ahead by the co-operative efforts of Climate Institute and NOAA. You can dig quality info about the timeline of the universe, earth, or get some global experience. 


2. Wander through the planetary system 

Dubai Children’s City’s planetarium is quite vast and extensive. Here, you can indulge yourself in educational programs or full-dome shows. 


3. Watch your child enjoying at the Toddler’s Area 

If your child is below 6 years old, leave him to enjoy at the Toddler’s Area. There are around 30 different exhibits and engaging games for your toddler to entertain himself. Toddler’s area is bifurcated into two separate sections. The first section is dedicated for children below three years of age, and the second one is for children from 3 to 6 years old. 


4. Experience the Way We Live 

Here, you can find heaps of adventurous exhibits like – trade routes, pearl diving, camel racing, date palm, satellite views, cargo handling, aluminium stamping and so on.


5. Explore the different forms of culture that stretch across the globe 

International culture section of the Dubai Children’s City allows you to know what the cultures of other states and countries follow. Here, you can get sufficient information about spices, festivals, games, sports, schooling culture, latitude and longitudes, opinions, clothes, and families around the world. 


6. Nature Centre

GALLERIES AT CHILDREN’S CITY

You can find galleries specific to applied sciences, nature, human body, space exploration and local and international culture at Children’s City. 


Earth Sciences Gallery

Earth Sciences is one of the most popular galleries with children visiting this attraction. They often start their exploration journey from this gallery. If your child is a budding scientist, the Earth Sciences Gallery will definitely pique their interest. Organised in collaboration with the American organization “Climate Institute” and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, this gallery exhibits different pictures sourced from NASA in high resolution.


International Culture

The International Culture Gallery at Children’s City consists of a wide range of objects representing different cultures around the world. Your little one can discover all about the customs, arts and achievements of people of other cultures at this specific gallery in Dubai. It displays ceremonial swords, clothes based on seasons and different types of maps.


Human Body

If you have a budding doctor at home, do take them to this part of the gallery. They will surely love this part of the place as it consists of models of different parts of the body. There is even a large model of the mouth at this place which you can walk into and explore in detail!


Nature Center

If you want your child to know all about the environment and wildlife of the UAE, Nature Center will be the best place for them. With an exquisite range of exhibits, it will provide your children with a chance to see all that they have only read about and watched in movies. The Nature Center has an AV theatre, clever plants and models of dinosaurs.


Space Exploration

At the Space Exploration gallery, you and your child can learn some of nature's secrets. It has a gyroscope chair, specimens of rock, spacesuit gloves and a replica of Apollo aircraft.


The Way We Live

Consisting of different artefacts and replicas of different monuments, this part of the Children City will let you and your child view Dubai from a historical lens. The exhibits at this gallery include a model of a date palm, old Arabian manuscripts and a sailing boat.


TODDLER’S AREA

With more than 30 exhibits and games, the toddler's area is a hub of entertainment for your little ones. It contains a piano, slide, soft pads and water bed. If you have a child below six years old, you can drop him or her to the toddler’s area.

Planetarium

Let your child enjoy edutainment programs and shows at this Planetarium in Dubai. Planetarium shows many new and diverse films each day. Equipped with a full-dome six-channel system, it displays images at a resolution of 9 Mp, covering the entire space. It has 100 seats. Currently, it is closed for renovation but will re-open in April 2020, with an exciting line-up of films.

 

Resource Centre

The Resource Centre is a great place for your young, inquisitive children who can’t spend a single day without reading. It has hundreds of books, magazines and software programs where children can learn all about culture, geography, nature, science and the human body.

THINGS TO CONSIDER WHILE VISITING THE CHILDREN’S CITY

There are a few things you need to take into account while visiting the Children’s City.

  • Children must be accompanied by adults.

  • Adults should share educational aids with children.

  • Smoking is prohibited.

  • Be on time for any shows, workshops or performances you have booked.

  • Running is not allowed within the premises of Children’s City galleries.

 

CHILDREN’S CITY ENTRANCE FEE

Children’s City Dubai ticket price varies based on the type of visitors.

 

FOR FAMILIES

  • Children aged two to fifteen years must pay AED 10 to enter the venue.

  • Adults from 16 years onward must pay AED 15 as entry fee

  • Families (including two adults and children) must pay AED 40 to enter Children City

  • Children under two years old can enter for free.

  • People of determination with two accompanying persons can enter for free.

  • Children’s City entrance tickets don’t include the entry fee of Creek Park. To enter the Creek Park, you must pay AED 5.

 

FOR SCHOOLS AND TOURISTS

  • Schools must have a minimum of 20 children to avail a special discount, which will be AED 5 per students, followed by a free entrance for two accompanying persons

  • Tourists and the private group must include a minimum of 20 persons, with each of them having to pay AED 10 per person. There is also free entrance for one corporate/tour accompanying person as a part of this offer.

1. Dubai Dolphinarium 

Dubai Dolphinarium is Dubai’s unique indoor family entertainment zone where you can walk, swim and dance with the dolphins. There are three regular shows scheduled at the Dubai Dolphinarium – Dolphin & Seal Show, Dolphin Planet and Creek Park Bird Show. 


2. Creekside Park 

Dubai’s Creekside Park is the nation's second-largest park enclosing vastly stretched lawns, a playing area dedicated entirely for children, and botanical gardens. You can either indulge yourself in watching the show in water or enjoy some interactive shows at the theatre. 


3. Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club

Tips for Visiting Children's city

  • You are requested to supervise your own children throughout your visit. 

  • It is your responsibility to ensure that your child participates in all the interactive sessions. Participation will help him to reap out the maximum benefit from his or her visit.

  • Whenever one gallery is entirely crowded, please move ahead towards another gallery. Meanwhile, you can take a refreshment break and return back. Avoid crowding exhibits and programs and co-operate with the officials of Dubai Children’s City. 

  • Whatever educational aid you will be receiving on your return from Dubai Children’s City, make sure that you share it with others. 

  • Before stepping inside the Dubai Children’s City, it is essential to make it a note that smoking and drinking are strictly prohibited. Kindly, do not carry any accessories related to it. 

  • Punctuality is the essence of entertainment. Be punctual throughout your visit to the Dubai Children’s City to reap the maximum benefits from the live performances, exhibits and workshops. 

  • Once you are within the premises of the Dubai Children’s City, avoid running here and there. Running will only give rise to mishaps and accidents. Enjoy a peaceful education at the Dubai’s first every informative city.
