Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo
Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo is home to thousands of aquatic animals, comprising over 140 species. Over 400 Sharks and Rays live in our 10 million litre tank, including Sand Tiger Sharks, Giant Groupers, and a host of other marine species. A series of carefully designed experiences will allow our visitors to come face to face with our aquatic residents for memorable moments with friends and family.
Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo have so many things to offer being it dive with sharks or seeing king croc it has become one of the must visit places in Dubai mall as well as while visiting Dubai for tourism. It has many activities for families to enjoy with their kids as well as couples to spend their time happily.
Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo is mainly divided into three part:
1.AQUARIUM TUNNEL
Located on the Ground Floor of The Dubai Mall, the 48-metre long Aquarium tunnel takes you 11 metres under the surface. Some of the part is visible to the public outside in the mall the real fun is whale crossing the tunnel, it's just 48m but it's just the start of the fun and one can’t just imagine the size by just visiting the tunnel.
2.AQUARIUM TANK
After one completes the tunnel tour the next thing to do is visit the tunnel from above. Visitors can go on a Glass-bottom boat ride, providing unique views of the tank from beneath their feet. This is one of the best experiences one can get which is complemented with the tickets and can't avoid missing it. Also on the way to boat ride one can enjoy 3-D experience which is also included in the same price.
3.UNDERWATER ZOO
Located on Level Two above the Aquarium tank, Underwater Zoo leads you through three ecological Zones; Rainforest, Rocky Shore and Living Ocean. Watch out for these aquatic creatures at Underwater Zoo: Otters, Piranha, African Dwarf Crocodiles, Lionfish, Giant Spider Crabs, Seahorses, Garden Eels, Archerfish, Arapaima, Water Rats, Paddlefish, Cichlids, Nautilus and many more amazing aquatic animals in 40 individual aquatic displays.
ROCKY SHORE
This is where the land meets the sea, a rugged, harsh environment where only the tough survive. If you don’t mind getting your hands wet, you can also reach out and touch some of the hardier rock pool inhabitants.
RAINFOREST
Imagine walking along the banks of a pristine river bed surrounded by some of the most incredible freshwater animals alive. Dangerous Piranha, Giant Catfish, playful Otters, and water Rats are just some of the animals you'll meet here.
A fascinating new addition at Underwater Zoo is King Croc, regarded as nature's rare phenomenon and one of the world's largest reptiles - at over 5 meters long and weighing an imposing 750 kg plus. Underwater Zoo regularly hosts innovative exhibits. One such exhibit, 'UAE's Night Creatures' presents the experience of nightfall in the desert as creatures of the dark.

Things to Do in Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo
1. Shark Feeding Encounter:

Shark walker provides you a new experience of witnessing the amazing aquatic life from close range, without even getting your hair wet, by putting on a customized helmet equipped to help you breathe comfortably underwater.
6. Underwater Zoo Experiences:
Brace for the experience of a lifetime as you chance upon the King Croc, a 5 m long, 750 kg aggressive saltwater reptile with 60 pearly white razor teeth and 3700 pounds psi deadly bite force, habituating in a natural environment. The theme park located in Dubai Mall can easily be reached via public transport. The Red Line metro carries the visitors from the airport’s terminal to Dubai Mall metro station.
Tips for Visiting Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo
The park offers a range of packages from which visitors can choose depending on their interests.
Photography is allowed throughout the aquarium. At a few places, notices are put requesting tourists not to use flash, as it may harm or alarm the animals.
It is beneficial to buy tickets online and in advance as it will be cheaper.
Visitors should report 10-30 minutes before the scheduled time of the activity.
Tourists are requested to carry a valid ID for entering the Aquarium.
